Katie has been a career and professional development counselor in higher education for over 13 years and has worked closely alongside southern california undergraduate students from diverse backgrounds to ensure that all students have access and equity as a part of their professional dreams and passions. She works with students one-on-one, in the classroom, and in group settings where she focuses on assisting students in identifying and articulating the value of their education and background within the economy. Katie received her M.S. in Counseling with a Specialization in Student Development in Higher Education from California State University Long Beach in Long Beach, CA, and obtained her B.A. with two minors in Sociology and Political Science from Northeastern University in Boston, MA.
In her spare time, she loves walking/hiking with her two dogs, Mookie and Lola Maria, going paddle boarding with them, and taking them on travel adventures. Katie is an avid athlete, including soccer, volleyball, long-distance running, track and field, surfing, and loves to travel, particularly to international destinations. She has been to 6 continents, 34 countries, and 43 states. Lastly, Katie also loves to read about neuroscience to further engage in learning and understanding the human experience.
