Arian Tomar Arian Tomar is an award-winning documentary filmmaker and climate storyteller from Minnesota. Inspired by his experience studying marine science in British Columbia, Arian seeks to advance sustainability, conservation, and community climate action. Arian is passionate about the intersection between science, entrepreneurship, and communication and uses his background in these diverse fields to make informed films that connect multiple stakeholders to empower collective action. During his time at USC, Arian has directed numerous video projects with groups like the Arts and Climate Collective, Office of Sustainability, Wrigley Institute for Environment and Sustainability, USC Sea Grant, Annenberg Innovation Lab, and the Postdoctoral Sustainability Solutions Fellowship.
Joshua Burrows Josh Burrows is a third-year student studying architecture and computer animation. He is the architectural captain for USC’s Earthquake Engineering Research Institute, involved in the School of Architecture’s publications and advocacy groups, and has a strong passion for building resilient communities through sustainable housing and organization. By discovering architecture through the lense of ecological design and creative media, Josh aspires to be a part of sustainable movements within the architecture industry and built environment.
Leo Arney Leo Arney is a rising junior studying Business Administration with a minor in Environmental Studies. He serves on the Advisory Committee on Investment Responsibility for USC's endowment fund and is a Hayes Barnard Sustainability Fellow. An environmental advocate, he leverages his finance background to pioneer sustainable initiatives and promote eco-conscious investments.
Lila Aspin Lila Aspin is a junior from Chicago, Illinois studying Public Policy on the Urban Environmental and Sustainability Policy track. She also has minors in Legal Studies and Forensics & Criminality. Lila has been extremely involved in sustainability at USC, serving on the executive board of the Student Sustainability Committee and working in the President’s Sustainability Internship Program as a Peace Garden Intern. Lila is interested in the intersection of sustainability and social justice, with a goal of creating meaningful change through sustainable, equitable policy solutions that can reshape the future of social justice initiatives and address pressing global challenges
Lucy Westlake Lucy Westlake is a junior at USC studying Public Policy Data Analytics. Her career goal is to go into environmental research to study human impact in pristine places. Her passion for environmental preservation comes from her mountaineering, which she has been doing since the age of seven. She has climbed all over the world, including Mt. Everest (on which she holds the record as the Youngest American Woman to summit), K2, Denali, and Aconcagua. She is now a mountain guide and seeks to bring people into the mountains in a responsible, sustainable manner. She is also a long-distance trail runner, rock climber, and triathlete -- all of which center around access to natural resources. She loves everything nature and hopes she can spend the rest of her life preserving it for future generations.
Natalie Lopez Natalie Lopez is a Junior at the University of Southern California pursuing a Bachelor of Science in Environmental Studies and a Master of Science in Integrated Design, Business, and Technology. She is originally from Imperial Valley, CA, where the surrounding environmental health concerns and the flourishing renewable energy industry sparked her passion for the accessibility and innovation happening to address the energy transition. She is currently employed as a Research Assistant at USC Annenberg Center for Climate Journalism and Communication. Here, she analyzes climate communication trends and, most notably, is the Associate Producer of the podcast Electric Futures, which tells stories about communities at the forefront of the energy transition. Natalie is excited to work in a startup environment after college to address the problem with tangible climate solutions. In her free time she enjoys running, traveling, and learning new languages.
Sari Goldberg Sari Goldberg is a Junior at USC Marshall, pursuing a degree in Business Administration with an emphasis on Finance. Driven by a passion for advancing the renewable energy transition, she has worked alongside sustainable venture capitalists to support clean energy development. On campus, Sari wrote for Glimpse from the Globe, USC’s foreign affairs publication, highlighting the critical link between human rights and sustainability. She also serves as the inaugural sustainability chair for her women’s fraternity. Her enthusiasm for finance extends beyond the classroom. As an advanced member of Smarter Women’s Securities, she actively supports the mission of empowering women to succeed in the financial sector. Sari also tutors finance and accounting for the USC Marshall School and has honed her leadership skills as a project manager for the Business Technology Group. She is dedicated to combining her finance expertise with sustainability to drive impactful change in the clean energy space.
Shivi Anand Shivi Anand is an undergraduate student at USC pursuing the BS Global Geodesign major, Applied Analytics minor and Hayes Barnard Sustainability Fellowship. She has a passion for environmental sustainability which she explores at city-scale through geodesign, at the scale of a business firm through past work, and increasingly at the international scale. Shivi is excited to learn more about the business world and to apply her skills in data, design, geography, and sustainability.
