ACCT Classes - D-Clearance & Interest List
- D-Clearance
- During the registration period: for fall (March/April) and spring (October/November), most ACCT classes are “R”.
- During winter (December) and summer (June-August) orientation: certain classes are made “D”. Please see below for more details.
- During the first three weeks of the semester (add/drop): Most ACCT classes are “R” during the first two weeks of classes. At the end of the second week of the term, all ACCT courses will switch to D-clearance. At this point, students must obtain permission from the professor to add the course. If permission is granted and space is available, the instructor will notify the Leventhal Undergraduate Program office to add the student.
- Interest Lists
- Interest lists are a way for students to indicate their interest in enrolling in an undergraduate ACCT course. They will not open unless all sections of a course are full.
- Priority is given to students who are graduating. Students can add their name to an interest list for a course where all sections are closed. Students on the list will be notified in advance should new sections or seats be added.
- Students are expected to make current open sections work with their schedule and should NOT wait to add to an interest list. Interest lists are not a guarantee of a seat and are not an automatic waitlist.
- Students can add their name to an interest list for a course where all sections are closed starting on Thursday, April 16th.
- BUAD 280 & 281
- During summer and winter orientation (typically for two weeks in December and mid-June through mid-August), the courses will be made “D” and no students will be given d-clearance, except orientation students with the respective Marshall/Leventhal majors. After orientation registrations have concluded, the sections will return to “R” and all remaining seats will be released. All remaining seats will be released on Thursday, August 14th.
- BUAD 305
- BUAD 305 will remain D-clearance throughout the entire registration period. This course is only for students who took both BUAD 280 and 281 at a community college prior to starting at USC (dual enrollment courses do not qualify). Only BUAD and ACCT transfer students from community college will be given clearance for BUAD 305.
- ACCT 370 & 371
- ACCT 370 and ACCT 371 will remain D-clearance throughout the entire registration period. Students should contact their Leventhal academic advisor for D-clearance assistance or if they need to make any adjustments to their registration. Leventhal majors will be prioritized for these courses and non-Leventhal majors can reach out after the registration period concludes to inquire further.
- ACCT 410
- During summer and winter orientation (typically for two weeks in December and mid-June through mid-August), the courses will be made “D” and no students will be given d-clearance, except orientation students with the respective majors. After orientation registrations have concluded, the sections will return to “R” and all remaining seats will be released. All remaining seats will be released on Thursday, August 14th.
