Meet the Staff

Onma brings over 25 years of diverse experience in talent management to Marshall Undergraduate Career Services.  She began her career in executive search with global firms such as Korn/Ferry International, Heidrick & Struggles and Spencer Stuart.  She was then recruited to lead the corporate staffing and university relations for Nestle USA.  In 2010, Onma joined USC Marshall School of Business as a Corporate Liaison in the MBA Career Services.  There she worked with the full-time and PM MBA programs.  She also served as Associate Director of Career Services for the mid-career international IBEAR MBA program.  Onma sees her career as having evolved from helping great companies find talent to helping great talent find their employer of choice.

Onma earned her B.A. from Vassar College and her M.S. from the London School of Economics.  In her spare time, Onma volunteers in her local community and enjoys cooking and entertaining friends and family.

Claudia Aguilar brings over 25 years of experience supporting undergraduate students as they explore their career interests and navigate professional opportunities in Corporate America. A proud first-generation college graduate and USC alumna, Claudia is passionate about student success and believes in the power of internships and career exploration to shape meaningful futures. Her background includes career advising, professional development programming, employer engagement, and curriculum design. At INROADS, Inc., she worked closely with Fortune 500 companies to build strategic talent pipelines, placing hundreds of students in internships that often led to full-time roles. Known for her approachable style and positive energy, Claudia thrives on building lasting relationships with students. She was honored with the 2024 “Golden Compass” award, a student-nominated recognition for her impact at the USC Marshall School of Business. Her top three CliftonStrengths—Positivity, Adaptability, and Communication—reflect the values she brings to every interaction. Outside of work, Claudia enjoys traveling, discovering new restaurants, studying Japanese, and volunteering with her congregation. She lives in Los Angeles with her husband, four children, their dog Bruce, and their tortoise Tzatziki.

An innovative team-player who is unafraid to think differently, always going the extra mile and keeps current on the latest career services trends. Lisa has over 15 years of experience in higher education including career services, recruitment/admissions and academic planning. In addition she spent 5 years in the healthcare industry serving as an office manager for a large private practice facility and as a freelance program coordinator for pharmaceutical sales force training.

As Associate Director, she contributes and manages content for key communication pieces, identifies opportunities for improvement and growth by tracking and managing data for external and internal audits, and successfully manages and maintains our student and employer engagement platform, Handshake.

She enjoys a good cup of coffee, reading, and weekend adventures to Disneyland with her son.

Paul has provided career services to students across various disciplines for over 15 years at The Claremont Colleges and Occidental College. Paul has a B.A. in Mathematics from UNC-Chapel Hill and an MBA from The George Washington University. He has experience creating programs for first-year students, managing internship programs, collecting data for business school rankings, overseeing campus recruiting and working with recruiters across industries. He looks forward to assisting Trojans in pursuit of their career aspirations. 

Paul has a passion for cinema. He is a member of Film Independent and The American Cinematheque. He has produced feature films as well as shorts that appeared on UPtv, Link TV and Here TV and have been distributed by BRINKvision and Wolfe Video. 

Nick is a higher education professional with an unwavering passion for empowering undergraduate students on their journey to success. After obtaining his B.A. in Psychology from UCLA, Nick started his professional career in higher education recruitment. Nick brings experience in employer relations, career services, and event management, and most recently, he worked as a dedicated campus recruiter for a digital services firm, where he guided ambitious undergraduates to seize coveted job placements and internships, nurturing the brightest minds for future success.

Beyond the workplace, Nick indulges his love for movies with his AMC-movie pass, challenges himself on his Peloton bike, and enjoys discovering new LA hiking trails and coffee spots.
 

Erika Cano is a marketing strategy professional with a diverse background in the entertainment, consumer products, and non-profit sectors. She holds an MBA from the Kelley School of Business and a BBA from Loyola Marymount University. She is now bringing her corporate experience into higher education as a career advisor where she supports students through all aspects of their career journey, from exploration to interview preparation. A former first-generation college student, Erika is passionate about student success and is especially committed to guiding those navigating the early stages of their professional development. Her approach is informed by the impactful support she once received through leadership development programs, and she’s excited to now pay it forward by helping Marshall students build meaningful and successful careers.

Outside of work, Erika enjoys spending quality time with her husband and two children, often taking walks together with their two dogs. She also loves going to the beach, catching up with friends and family, and discovering new restaurants around Los Angeles.

Susie is the Career Services Coordinator for the Marshall Undergraduate Career Services Office; She plays a key role in both the operational and financial functions of the office. She supports the Director in reconciling the monthly and overall budget, ensuring accuracy and alignment with department goals. In addition to financial coordination, she assists with the logistical side of events—handling everything from pulling permits and arranging parking to helping with on-site setup. Susie is passionate about creating smooth, well-organized experiences that support student’s career development.

Outside of work, she enjoys spending quality time with her family. They are passionate soccer fans. Susie is also a big coffee enthusiast and enjoys trying out local coffee spots. One of her favorite things to do is to take spontaneous, unplanned trips—just get in the car and go!
