Marshall Transfer Success Program (TSP)

TSP is a 5-session program that helps incoming Marshall transfer students maximize their time at USC and build a community among other transfer students. 

The application for the Marshall Transfer Success Program's Fall 2025 Semester will be open until August 24th, 
and can be found here.

Benefits of Joining

  • Gain access to a community of peers at Marshall that can be a continuous source of support during the program and throughout your time at USC;
  • Receive personalized assistance regarding academic and career goals from Marshall staff, including the Marshall Student Affairs Team, Marshall Career Advisors, and Marshall faculty;
  • Be introduced to university resources as you transition into USC Marshall;
  • Network with and learn from Marshall Transfer Alumni who are now in the workforce, and Marshall student leaders;
  • And strengthen key skills needed to succeed as a Marshall student and business professional.

Eligibility Requirements

  • Must be an accepted incoming transfer student at the USC Marshall School of Business for the semester in which you are applying to TSP.
    • Incoming Leventhal Transfer Students should apply to the Leventhal Transfer Program by August 15, 2025: LTP Application.
  • Must complete the online application before August 24, 2025: TSP Application.

Expectations

  • If selected to participate in the program, you must be available to attend all of the sessions* and events noted below (accommodations  can be made on a case-by-case basis):
    • *Week 2- Session 1, September 2: Building Community at USC and Marshall
    • *Week 3- Session 2, September 9: Career Planning for Transfers
    • *Week 4- Session 3, September 16: Strategies for Academic Success at USC and Marshall
    • *Week 5- Session 4, September 23: Alumni Insights Panel
    • *Week 7- Session 5, October 7: Mental Health and Next Steps

*Please note that all five of the Tuesday sessions will occur from 5:00pm-6:50pm PST, pending room reservations. To participate in this program, you cannot have a class scheduled for that time.

Where did you transfer from? Indiana University

What are you involved in on campus?  Kappa Alpha Theta Sorority, Tommy's Tour Guide Group, Fashion Industry Association, Gearfest 

Where have you interned? MERIT Beauty and "Nita and Zita Project"

Transfer Advice: I would suggest to spend time in Fertitta Hall-- it makes Marshall feel more like a home the more time you spend there!

What are you involved in on campus?  Trojan Real Estate Association (TREA), Trojan Business Transfers (TBT)

Transfer Advice: One of the most important things is to get help when you're struggling in class. Marshall provides an abundance of opportunities to get help in any class you can think of. Another important thing to do is prioritize getting involved socially. Everyone can find a group they feel a connection to through clubs, student associations, or off campus organizations.

Transfer Advice: The sooner you take advantage of Marshall Career resources, the easier it becomes to figure out your next career steps and find opportunities that align with your goals. They can help with everything from refining your resume to preparing you for interviews for future internships. Even if you don't know what you want to do just yet, career services can help start that conversation.

Transfer Advice: Don’t wait for the perfect moment. Clarity comes from motion. When I first transferred, I was overwhelmed by choices, but sitting down with a Marshall advisor and checking Handshake became my compass. Take one step, then another, and before long, your path begins to shape itself.

Transfer Advice: Try different things and have fun at USC and Marshall. There's so much opportunity if you are willing to explore.

Transfer Advice: You are not alone. Being a student at USC is not easy, nor is transferring to USC. There will be all kinds of challenges - academic, social, financial, etc. It is best to keep in mind that you are not alone in this process, that people have experienced the same feelings, and that you can get through them.
