USIF 2017 Managers


Michael Aronson

Michael Aronson is currently pursuing a B.S. in Business Administration at the USC Marshall School of Business. While at USC, Michael has been involved in the Value Investing Group, which competes in national stock pitch competitions and attends the Berkshire Hathaway Annual Shareholders meeting. He is also a member of the TAMID group, offering consulting services for Israeli startups, and Troy Camp, providing hands-on philanthropic outreach to the downtown LA community. Michael has worked for Cappello Group, a boutique investment bank in Los Angeles, and he operates a tutoring business to assist undergraduates with basic finance and accounting. Michael is looking forward to working in Lazard’s Investment Banking division in Los Angeles after graduation. In his free time, Michael enjoys golfing, caddying, and cooking.

Drew Cohen

Drew Cohen is currently pursuing his B.S. in Business Administration at the Marshall School of Business and his B.S. in Accounting at the Leventhal School of Accounting. While at USC, Drew has participated in the USC student government Philanthropy Fund, the Trojan Investing Society’s Leader’s Program, and has helped conduct research studies at the Marshall School. He also is currently the exchequer for the Alpha Epsilon Pi fraternity. He has worked for a year and a half at Old West Investment Management, a value-investing firm, as a research equity analyst. This past summer he interned in New York at Goldman Sachs in the Global Investment Research group as an equity analyst. He will be returning as a full time analysis next Fall.

Guarav Doshi

Gaurav Doshi is currently pursuing his B.S. in Business Administration with a concentration in finance at the USC Marshall School of Business, and will be graduating in the spring of 2017. Outside of class he has been actively involved in Startup Equinox, Lavalab, Trojan Investing Society, Marshall Global Brigades, and Sigma Nu. He has also worked for USC’s treasury department as a student intern for over a year. His summer internship experiences include working as an Investment Banking Summer Analyst at William Blair, a strategic planning intern for a creative ad agency in Singapore as well as an intern at an early stage venture capital fund in Bombay, India. He is excited to return to William Blair’s technology Investment Banking group in San Francisco after graduation.

Kevin Gao

Kevin Gao is currently pursuing his B.Sc. in Business Administration. While at USC, Kevin has served as the Director of Membership for the Trojan Investing Society and the VP of Finance for Moneythink. Internationally, he has represented USC on international trips as part of the USC delegations for LinC Hong Kong and ExCel Cuba, and is an alumnus of the iPodia program.

Kevin is currently interning at Troy Capital Partners in Santa Monica, a new venture and strategic opportunities fund investing in emerging companies primarily in Southern California. His previous professional experiences includes an internship with Cloud Angel Fund, an early stage angel investing fund in China focused on technology investments. Prior to that, he worked at Old West Investment Management, a value oriented investment management fund in Downtown Los Angeles. Before he got started in finance, he interned at a large technology corporation in Silicon Valley, as well as a tech start-up in Los Angeles. After graduation, he hopes to pursue a career in investing. In his spare time, Kevin enjoys reading technology blogs and philosophy books, playing tennis and golf, exploring LA, visiting museums and learning obscure history facts, and trying new and exotic foods.

Hank Huang

Hank Huang is currently pursuing his B.S. in Business Administration with an emphasis in Finance at the USC Marshall School of Business and will be graduating in the Spring of 2017. During his time at USC, Hank is a competing member of the Marshall Case Team and a varsity athlete on the USC Sailing Team. He is also an active member of the Trojan Investing Society, Ascend, Career Advantage Program and other organizations. Last summer, he interned at Deutsche Bank’s Investment Banking Division in Hong Kong and will be returning upon graduation. Before the internship, he interned at a VC and a PE based in Taiwan and audited with PwC before he head into the ROC Army to complete his military training. Aside from that, he’s from Taiwan who enjoys traveling and trying new food.

Jack Hussey

Jack Hussey is currently pursuing his B.S. in Business Administration at USC Marshall and M.S. in Financial Engineering through USC’s Viterbi School of Engineering. While at USC, he has served as the president of Phi Beta Lambda, co-founder and treasurer of Financial LiterSC, and been an active member in the Trojan Investing Society and Applied Statistics Club. Jack has previously interned as a research and investment analyst at Almitas Capital, a multi-strategy hedge fund in Marina del Rey, California. After completing his master degree next year, Jack hopes to become a research analyst at a quantitative hedge fund or go for a PhD in a technical discipline. In his free time, Jack enjoys hiking, playing racquetball, investing, and cheering on his hometown Pittsburgh sports teams.

Neeraj Koduri

Neeraj Koduri is currently pursuing his B.S. in Business Administration with a minor in Biotechnology. During his time at USC, Neeraj has been on the executive board of the Trojan Investing Society and the Best Buddies USC Chapter. He also writes for the Daily Trojan Sports Section and is the Alumni Relations chair for the Phi Sigma Kappa Fraternity. Neeraj has previously interned at a boutique Venture Capital firm and in the finance department of the Los Angeles Biomedical Research Institute. This past summer, he interned as an Investment Banking Summer Analyst for Wells Fargo’s Healthcare group in San Francisco and will be returning as a full time analyst after graduation. Originally from Kansas City, Neeraj enjoys playing tennis, basketball and the violin.

Austin Lam

Austin Lam is a senior pursuing his B.S in Business Administration at the USC Marshall School of Business and his B.S. in Accounting at the USC Leventhal School of Accounting. While at USC, Austin has served as the Vice President of Operations for Beta Alpha Psi and also as an Admissions Ambassador for the Marshall Undergraduate Admissions Office. Austin interned with PwC in their New York City office with the Financial Sponsors M&A Due Diligence group, and will return full time. He has previously interned in Private Wealth Management at Wells Fargo. Born and raised in Orange County, California, Austin enjoys following the aviation industry, swimming, working out and trying new restaurants.

Nim Mann

Nim Mann is currently pursuing her B.A. in International Relations Global Business with a concentration in International Finance at the USC Marshall School of Business and Dornsife College of Letters, Arts & Sciences. While at USC, Nim has served as a managing director of the Value Investing Group, a student organization that competes in national stock pitch competitions and attends Berkshire Hathaway’s Annual Shareholders Meeting; and she has served as the Chief Financial Officer and Senior Advisor to the Trojan Investing Society, USC’s largest undergraduate finance organization. She has also been a member of the Trojan Consulting Group, USC Stamps Leadership Scholars Community, and Delta Sigma Pi.

Nim’s previous professional experience includes internships with Goldman Sachs’ investment banking division in San Francisco and Deutsche Bank’s commercial real estate investment banking division in Los Angeles. Prior to this, she has interned with Ocean Park Advisors, a boutique investment bank specializing in renewable energy in Los Angeles, as well as ARSEM, a commercial real estate group in Paris. Nim is looking forward to joining Centerview Partners’ investment banking division after graduation. Nim speaks five languages fluently including English, Spanish, Hindi, Punjabi, and Urdu. She enjoys traveling, and has conducted extensive research in Rwanda on post-genocidal economic recovery. In her spare time, Nim enjoys figure skating and was formerly nationally ranked.

Jesse Meltz

Jesse Meltz studies Business Administration at Marshall. Before enrolling at USC, Jesse took a gap year during which he backpacked for seven months around Central America, Africa and Scandinavia. While at USC, Jesse has been a member of Concert Choir and the Animal Rights Association. Regarding work experience, he has worked as a Market Analyst at Equinix, the world’s largest data center provider, and as a Commercial Real Estate Intern at Camden Realty Group in Beverly Hills. This summer, Jesse interned in Financial Services Advisory at PwC in New York, and after graduation he will join Bain & Company’s San Francisco office as an Associate Consultant. Originally from Massachusetts, Jesse enjoys cooking, playing tennis and scuba diving.

Lucy Qu

Lucy Qu is currently pursuing a B.S. in Business Administration at the USC Marshall School of Business and a minor in Health Administration through the Price School of Public Policy. While at USC, Lucy has served as Vice President of the USC campus chapter of the Roosevelt Institute and financial chair of USCSpeechEmpowerment. She has also been involved in Trojan Investing Society, the Marshall Career Advantage Program, and works as Marshall Peer Tutor for BUAD311 (Operations Management). Her previous work experience includes valuation with Frazier Capital Valuation, private wealth management with Northwestern Mutual, and radiology research at the Vanderbilt Institute of Imaging Science. Lucy previously interned as an investment banking summer analyst at Houlihan Lokey, where she will be returning to work full-time after graduation. Originally from Nashville, Tennessee, Lucy enjoys country music, art, running and hiking.

Elliot Schad

Elliot Schad is currently pursuing a B.S in Business Administration at the USC Marshall School of Business and a B.A in Psychology at the USC Dornsife College of Letters, Arts and Sciences. While at USC, Elliot has served as the President of the USC Value Investing Group and as an Executive Board member for the Trojan Investing Society. Regarding work experience, he worked as an analyst for Goldman Sachs’ Global Investment Research Division in New York. As a senior, he joined the team at Ring, where he now works for the Director of Operations. He’ll be joining American Family Ventures, the venture capital arm of American Family Insurance when he graduates. In his free time, Elliot enjoys playing tennis, and camping and hiking at National Parks.

Kaitlyn Shao

Kaitlyn Shao is currently pursuing her B.S. in Business Administration with a concentration in Finance at the USC Marshall School of Business and a minor in Psychology. While at USC, Kaitlyn has served as executive board member for the Trojan Investing Society and USC Consulting Club. She has also been a member of Marshall Women Leadership Board and Beta Alpha Psi, an accounting honor fraternity. Her previous professional experience includes working at Pulmuone Foods as a Corporate Development Intern. Prior to that, Kaitlyn interned with China International Capital Corp. as an Investment Banking Summer Analyst. In her free time, Kaitlyn enjoys hiking, golfing and trying new restaurants.

Natalia Shevchenko

Natalia Shevchenko is currently pursuing her B.S. in Business Administration at the USC Marshall School of Business. While at USC, Natalia has been a member of the Trojan Investing Society and CFA Society of Los Angeles. Prior to joining the fund, Natalia has interned in Private Wealth Management and Investment Banking at UBS Financial Services in Los Angeles and NOR Capital in London, respectively. Currently, she is studying to get her CFA designation. Originally from Russia, Natalia enjoys running marathons, playing tennis, horseback riding, and yoga. Following graduation in the spring of 2017, Natalia intends to pursue a career in investment banking.

Maria Yang

Biyun (Maria) Yang is currently a senior at the University of Southern California. Enrolled in Leventhal School of Accounting and Marshall School of Business, she is pursuing a double major in accounting and business administration with a finance concentration. As an international student who comes from a diverse background, she is proactive and enthusiastic about challenges and new opportunities. She has had many internship experiences working at Price Waterhouse & Coopers, Bank of China, and China Galaxy Securities. After graduation in May 2017, Biyun anticipates sitting for the CPA exam and start her career in the accounting industry.

Sheng Yao

Sheng Yao is currently pursuing his B.S. in Business Administration at the USC Marshall School of Business and his B.S. in Economics/Mathematics at the USC Dornsife College of Letters, Arts and Sciences. While at USC, Sheng has been involved in the USC Ipodia Program, Trojan Investing Society and the Joint Education Program. Sheng intends to pursue a career in investment management, and to one day manage his own global macro fund. Sheng interned with Sumitomo Mitsui Banking Corporation in their New York City office in the SCAD – Lender Finance Group during the past summer. Originally from Guangzhou, China, Sheng enjoys playing basketball, trying new food and travelling.
